Hi All, my name is Jonathan Maurer and I am an MFA student in Film & TV Production in the School of Cinematic Arts. I have a diverse taste and interest in film, with experience in all the avenues of short film-making (as writer/director/producer/editor/cinematographer). I would love the opportunity to bring a fascinating and complex idea to life through a film that assumes its audience's intelligence and treats it with respect. I would like to be approached by a team looking for someone in the film department, or else approach semi-formed teams, based on their interest(s), that still need a filmmaker.
I own a lot of my own equipment and have had great collaborations with colleagues in the film department and music department who may also be able to assist. During my time at USC SCA I have directed films over distinct genres--horror, avant-garde/surreal, comedy--and am sure I could find the right tone to tell a story we are all interested in and passionate about.
